(May 8, 2012)  It’s important as adults caring for children this summer to provide plenty of daily opportunities for play. Play is how children learn about themselves and the world around them. It is critical for physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. Fun play activities include lots of exploring, curiosity and discovery. Use these wonderful activity resources available through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension early child development website, which includes cooking with kids, to spend quality time with your children this summer. Extension Offers Parenting Course Online

(March 16, 2012) Co-Parenting for Successful Kids (formerly known as Parents Forever) is now available online for parents who are divorcing or seeking custody modification, or for never-married parents seeking custody. The on-line course does not replace the Co-Parenting for Successful Kids classes that are offered across the state. This is simply another choice being offered to parents through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension. Co-Parenting for Successful Kids is an unbiased, research-based education class designed to help parents implement positive parenting skills. It meets the 2008 Nebraska Updated Parenting Act guidelines for parents. Learn more about Co-Parenting for Successful Kids Online
